For Liquidity Providers

FAQ

What Ascnt is, why and who it is for, what it costs and where deposits go, then direct answers about fees, withdrawals, and who can use the app.

What is Ascnt?

Ascnt is a DeFi platform built for liquidity providers (LPs). Every Ascnt liquidity pool prices incoming swaps dynamically, in real time, according to the swap and the market conditions. See how it works.

Why use Ascnt?

Don't let us bore you with marketing speak: see the performance for yourself. Inside every Ascnt pool your funds react to the market the way a professional trading desk would, so you can sleep easier knowing your liquidity is nobody's easy target.

Who is it for?

Ascnt is for anyone who wants to provide liquidity on-chain, from a first small position to a fund with large allocations to put to work. The logic adapts to the liquidity in the pool, no matter how big or small your position.

What does it cost?

Nothing*. Ascnt pools are entirely free and permissionless to deposit and withdraw. There is an Ascnt protocol fee in the contracts, and it is currently switched off: read more.

*Excluding network gas costs, which you pay on your own transactions as with any Uniswap position.

Where do my deposits go?

Ascnt pools are built on Uniswap v4 as pool hooks. When you deposit into an Ascnt pool, your liquidity is held in the Uniswap protocol just like any other Uniswap liquidity position, and Ascnt never has custody of it. You can deposit or withdraw through the Ascnt app (recommended), the Uniswap app, or the Uniswap smart contracts directly.

Is my deposit custodial?

No. Your liquidity sits in Uniswap v4's PoolManager and your position is a standard v4 position NFT in your wallet. Ascnt never holds it and no Ascnt contract can move it.

Can I withdraw whenever I want?

Yes, with one exception: a freshly added position can't be removed until the pool's JIT block-lock passes — two blocks on every current pool, and a top-up restarts it. Nothing else can block a withdrawal: not a pause, not governance, not the Ascnt app being offline. See Risks.

Can I collect fees while my position is locked?

Yes. The lock only holds principal; accrued fees can be collected at any time.

Why does the fee change from swap to swap?

Because the risk an LP carries is never static. The base fee follows how busy the pool is, swaps that push the pool out of balance pay a surcharge, and swaps that restore it trade cheaper. See Ascnt Pools.

Do I need both tokens to deposit?

It depends on your range. A range around the current price needs both; a range entirely above or below it starts with one token, because it's waiting for the price to trade into it.

What am I approving?

The Uniswap v4 position manager takes ERC-20 tokens through Permit2, Uniswap's audited approval contract. You approve Permit2 once per token, then sign a message for each deposit that authorises only that transaction and only its exact maximum amount. No other contract is given an unlimited allowance, and native ETH needs no approval.

Where is my position?

It's a Uniswap v4 position NFT in your wallet, so it shows up in the Ascnt app, the Uniswap interface, and any v4-compatible tool. You can add, remove, or collect fees through any of them, with no dependency on us.

Which networks are supported?

Ethereum mainnet.

Who can use the app?

The pools are permissionless contracts; the app is where a few rules apply. Visitors from comprehensively sanctioned jurisdictions are refused, and every connected wallet is screened against the OFAC sanctions list. Visitors in the United States cannot deposit into pools that hold tokenised stocks or ETFs; withdrawing is never restricted. UK visitors see a notice that the app is a tool, not an invitation to trade. The app's Disclosures state the full rules.

Is it safe?

No documentation can promise that. The v1 contracts have been through three independent security reviews, pool parameters are immutable, and no governance action can reach LP principal. Defects and external failures remain possible — read Risks and deposit only what you can afford to lose.

How do I request a pool?

Reach out via @ascntlabs or ascnt.fi with the pair and the market you have in mind. We run the pool infrastructure; you bring the strategy.
